Day three of SAPPHIRE NOW is winding down and this is my wrap-up blog, reporting on the activity on the show floor where I spoke with many customers and partners. I was amazed by how friendly and positive everybody was, even after three long days. In one partner booth, when they found out that I work for SAP, the person I was talking to shouted “give this woman a round of applause, she works for our partner SAP.” That was amazing. (more…)

As part of a continued effort to provide customers flexibility in software deployment options and innovations in cloud computing, SAP and Amazon Web Services today announced that a variety of SAP solutions, including SAP Rapid Deployment solutions and SAP BusinessObjects solutions, are now available on demand via Amazon Web Services (AWS). Expanding their long-term partnership with a joint base of thousands of customers, SAP and Microsoft Corp today announced their plans to improve integration between SAP software and Microsoft virtualization and cloud computing technologies. These plans include innovations to people-centric applications development for SAP software as well as virtualization and cloud computing without disruption of customer IT landscapes. Great day from Orlando. I wrote a similar post on Forbes called “No matter what Stephen Hawkings says, God exists and He loves geeks“  this week — you will have to read it to see how it fits into SAP HANA. It does, I swear!  I was lucky enough to attend the SAP HANA InnoJam finals this week on Monday night at the Orlando Hilton conference center. The event whittled down from 625 great global ideas, to 48 regional finalists, to the final 12 competitors. Tech vendors play the same way, battling over the ecosystem of partners and developers, knowing that it will translate to paying customers – and victory – in the endgame.
