SAP today launched SAP NetWeaver Gateway technology, an open, standards-based framework for extending the reach of its business software to an exponentially larger number of users, developers and environments. SAP NetWeaver Gateway enables customers to free up their SAP applications from the confines of the desktop and access them from any environment, tool or device. Expanding their long-term partnership with a joint base of thousands of customers, SAP and Microsoft Corp today announced their plans to improve integration between SAP software and Microsoft virtualization and cloud computing technologies. Delivering on the product road map introduced one year ago at its annual conference for customers and partners, SAP today announced general availability of “Innovations 2010” enhancement packages across all core SAP Business Suite 7 applications. SAP and Sybase today announced plans to make SAP ERP the first SAP Business Suite application running on Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) — the same high-performance relational database management system (DBMS) that powers Wall Street. In combining SAP applications with Sybase technology, along with harmonized customer services and support, the companies aim to offer organizations worldwide a new database option for running SAP applications and accessing critical information, powering significant efficiency gains and cost reductions. SAP is introducing a new class of on-demand software solutions that include a packaged integration into SAP Business Suite while applying mobile and social networking technology to better support the way people work today anytime, anywhere. With SAP Business ByDesign as the platform on which this new line of offerings is built, these solutions will have the advantage of in-memory technology and on-demand deployment as well as support for mobile devices. The SAP Sales OnDemand solution is the first of these new applications and will be previewed at CeBIT 2011.
